GEL Counsel Perry A. Howell wrote an opinion piece published by Washington, DC newspaper The Hill on May 29, 2023. The article, “Thank you for your service: You’re fired”, discussed the challenges that veterans suffering from service-related mental health issues face in the civil service, and the federal government’s continuing failure to follow its own policy of serving as a model employer for these disabled veterans.
