In December 2021, after many years of litigation, an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) Administrative Judge found the Air Force liable for discriminating against Mr. Bighia in violation of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and thereafter issued Mr. Bighia a damages award estimated to exceed $1 million. Though the Administrative Judge ordered the Air Force to convey the ordered relief by July 29, 2022, the Air Force had yet to pay any of the undisputed amounts as of the publishing of the article.
