GEL Partner Cori Cohen will be presenting at the American Bar Association’s annual Labor and Employment Law Conference. Ms. Cohen will be presenting on intersection of COVID-19 and whistleblower retaliation claims, which is particularly pertinent as employees return to the workplace. In some circumstances, employees may be protected from retaliation for raising health and safety concerns related to COVID-19. The Department of Labor approximates that over 8,000 whistleblower complaints have been filed with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and other sources indicate about 1,000 COVID-19 related whistleblower cases have been filed in state and federal courts. This panel will explore the primary sources of the COVID-19 cases being filed, as well as the novel and familiar legal issues these cases raise. To learn more about the panel, click here. If you believe you have been retaliated against for raising concerns about public health and safety, GEL may be able to help you.
