Ms. Abigail Rosenthal is an associate with Gilbert Employment Law, focusing on the representation of both federal and private sector employees on claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, as well as violations of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and related state and local laws. Ms. Rosenthal’s practice includes litigating on behalf of clients in federal and state courts, as well as administrative forums such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Merit Systems Protection Board.

Ms. Rosenthal graduated magna cum laude with her Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) and holds a Bachelor of the Arts in Anthropology from Amherst College.

Prior to joining Gilbert Employment Law as an Associate Attorney, Ms. Rosenthal served as a Student Attorney in the AUWCL Gender Justice Clinic representing low-income DC residents before DC Superior Court on cases involving benefits, landlord-tenant disputes, and family law issues. She also served in the AUWCL Immigrant Justice Clinic, representing low-income DMV residents on a range of immigration issues including asylum, U and T-visas (victims of crime and human trafficking), adjustment of status, and stays of removal and detention. During law school, Ms. Rosenthal led the AUWCL chapter of If/When/How- Lawyering for Reproductive Justice and the Human Rights Brief podcast team, drafted recommendations for the UN Commission Against Torture as a Kovler Project against Torture Scholar, and assisted with the introduction of a Senate bill on humanitarian aid as an IPAS legal intern. Prior to law school, Ms. Rosenthal worked as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence in New Jersey. She is deeply committed to continuing to advocate for individuals’ civil rights and working for greater justice and equity on a societal level.
