Ms. Megan Freney is an Associate Attorney with Gilbert Employment Law, focusing on representation of both federal and private sector employees involving claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, as well as violations of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and related state and local laws. Ms. Freney’s practice includes litigating on behalf of clients in federal and state courts, as well as administrative forums such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Merit Systems Protection Board.

Prior to joining Gilbert Employment Law as an Associate, Ms. Freney served as a law clerk with the firm. During law school, Ms. Freney worked as a Research Assistant and for the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney of Honolulu as a Legal Intern in their Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Units.

Prior to law school, Ms. Freney worked for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Seattle, WA as a Legal Assistant and a Trial Paralegal for the Victim Assistant Unit and Felony Trial Unit. Ms. Freney was also an active volunteer with the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center and Victim Support Team providing resources and working to improve the legal process for survivors.

Ms. Freney graduated with her Juris Doctor from the University of Hawai‘i William S. Richardson School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington, Seattle.

Ms. Freney is a member of the Hawai‘i State Bar Association and the Hawai‘i Federal Bar Association.
